The company was created in 1946, in St Pierre d'Aurillac, near from Langon, in the heart of the vineyard of Bordeaux. The main activity was the forge works, wine growing was only at the very begining of its mechanization.
Later, it's in 1956 that « GIMBRE » company decided to enter the ground shovel manufacturing. Since the French vineyard configuration at the time, demand was very important, that's why the company knew a high expansion.
Therefore, in 1970, « GIMBRE » & Co endowed them with an important tool of prodution, notably with the construction of a 4.500 m² building and the purchase of machinery for metal sheets. The fabrication range strongly fills out to be equivalent to the current one.
Then, in 1994, « GIMBRE » company changed her name and became SARL SO.MA.VIT.
Now, it's a twenty people company.
The manufactured equipment range is divided into two main families : trailers and maintenance materials of the vineyard.
Trailers : platforms with side panels, monocoque for grape harvest, harvest dumps.
Maintenance tools : mowers, gyrocrushers, vine shoots crushers, crushers "hors sol", arms crushers, ground shovels.
The company owes her success to her reputation of strength and reliability, to her geographical establishment too, in the heart of the vineyard of Bordeaux. Actually, the company is located in the vines of the Entre-Deux-Mers, near from famous vintages such as Saint Emilion and Sauternes.
Since we are one of the harvest dumps manufacturer French leaders, « GIMBRE »'s brand is present in all the French vineyards.
